THE
The 037 Stradale was made to homologate its rally version into the radical Group B WRC class. At the core of every 037 is the mass production Lancia Beta Montecarlo. Every 037 has the centre chassis section from the Montecarlo... with perhaps some mnodifications ;-)
The Rally 037 is based on the Stradale and was the last 2-wheel drive car to win the World Rally Championship in 1983 against the formidable 4 wheel drive Audi
Almost every aspect of the 037 was business with large Brembo Brakes, double wishbone suspension, two 35-litre tanks, ZF five-speed gearbox, an Abarth-supercharged engine and easy access for repairs.
In all only 207 examples of the Stradale were built!
